Getting around Jena
The local transportation system is quite good. There are several buses and trams that connects the city center to other main stops. A ticket can be purchased at the ticketing machines of the main stations, or alternatively inside the bus/train during the trip.
Jena is a relatively small city, so walking is always a good option. The city center is in walking distance from the workshop venue. You are sure to find good restaurant options in the area, e.g. at the Wagnergasse street or in the market plaza.
For recreational activities, it is a good idea to take a look at the main park in the city, Paradies. If you would like to go for a walk, you can go up from the venue to Landgrafen, where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the city.
The JenTower is the only tall building in the city. As long as it is in view, none who wanders is lost.
