DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Paul Balduf (Leipzig MPI MiS)\n\nTropical field theo
ry is a new class of model quantum field theories that initially arises fr
om a tropicalization of polynomials in Schwinger-parametric Feynman integr
als. By now\, several alternative interpretations have been discovered: It
is a combinatorial generalization of zero-dimensional field theory\, it c
oincides with a local potential approximation of the functional renormaliz
ation group\, and it is an approximation and bound to ordinary Feynman int
egrals. I will explain some of these points and indicate how tropical fiel
d theory is useful for non-tropical QFT. Based upon https://arxiv.org/abs
 /2512.21091 and work in progress.\n\nhttps://indico.tpi.uni-jena.de/event
