The Trident and High-order Loop processes in a Strong Field, Joint seminar with HI Jena

The talk will focus on higher-order QED processes in a strong, constant crossed field (where the electric and magnetic components are perpendicular and have equal magnitudes). Loop diagrams can be connected to the tree-level processes by unitarity relations, also known as the cutting rules. For example, the information about the trident process probability rate (electron-positron pair creation by a charge) is contained in the two-loop electron mass operator. We will discuss this example in more detail to highlight the aspects of the cutting rules specific to a strong field. We will have an outlook on how this could be applied to higher-order processes in the context of the Ritus-Narozhny conjecture.
