DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Franz Sattler (Heidelberg University)\n\nI discuss r
ecent progress towards calculating the QCD phase diagram at finite density
using the functional Renormalisation Group (fRG). After introducing the f
RG and the most relevant concepts of QCD\, I explain the challenges encoun
tered in functional approaches to the QCD phase diagram.\nMost of these ca
n be resolved by the recent development of advanced numerical methods in n
umerical fRG approaches. In particular\, the application of numerical hydr
odynamics to RG flows and the scalability of our numerics to very large sy
stems reach towards quantitative access in the region of the conjectured c
ritical end-point (CEP) of the QCD phase diagram.\nAn interesting result o
f the application thereof is the appearance of spatial modulations (the mo
at regime) and inhomogeneous phases at high densities\, arising from a sel
f-consistent first-principle calculation. For the near future\, a clear pr
ogram emerges to further pinpoint the CEP and its nature using the fRG.\n\
