Description

Determining the type of excitations that can exist in a thermal medium is key to understanding how matter behaves at extreme temperatures. In this talk I will report on a recent approach which utilises the non-perturbative constraints imposed by causality, and discuss how these can be used to gain new insights into different aspects of finite-temperature QFT, including perturbation theory and lattice QCD.
