Hagedorn Transitions in Gauge Matrix Models

I will discuss matrix models primarily those arising from relativistic membranes. In particular I will focus on the Hagedorn and finite N corrections to this transition. I will show that perturbatively it is what is referred to as a 3/2-order phase transition and I will explain the relation of finite N partition functions to Poincare and Hilbert series and what these tell us about the onset of the transition.
