Description

Scale symmetry, just like any other symmetry, enhances the predictive
power of field theories. Underlying this predictivity, are infrared-attractive Renormalization Group fixed points and associated asymptotically free or safe trajectories. I will give a pedagogical
introduction to these concepts for single fixed points and then discuss effective predictivity in the presence of multiple fixed points. The fixed-point structure of gauge-Yukawa theories will serve as a
sufficiently rich but perturbatively controlled example.
